Twinkling lights, a dazzling bandshell, and a fairy-tale scene. In the heart of Mass Avenue’s Arts District, you’re invited to eat, drink, and be merry this holiday season as the Athenaeum Christkindlmarkt returns to the enchanted Rathskeller Biergarten — November 28 through December 21. This is your chance to gather with friends and family, and celebrate the magic and wonder of the holiday season in our historic Biergarten.
Here, you’ll experience an authentic winter market with traditional vendor huts featuring holiday wares and local handicrafts. At the Athenaeum Christkindlmarkt, you’ll find the traditional festival elements (music, warm raclettes, gluhwein and plenty of platzchen to go around) are just the foundation for special storytelling traditions unique to our rich, German culture.
You’ll also enjoy German food, live entertainment, and new holiday celebrations from around the globe, including Krampusnacht, Sankt Nikolaus Fest, Hanukkah, Las Posadas, and Kwanzaa! It’s a feast for your senses.
